Preparations 2018
During the three years since returning from crossing the Pacific I
had cleaned the boat and just doing all the things that I did not have
the time or equipment to fix. Some small and some large like the
generator. Malua had also travelled to Tasmania to get into the
swing of things but nothing really prepares you for the real thing so...
I had purchased a second hand Yamaha 8 hp outboard to replace my one
which I bought in New Zealand when the previous one would not start.
Just as a backup. I always carry the small 2.5 Yamaha I purchased
in Spain just in case.
Malua was packed with the food and equipment that are essential to a
short cruise to New Caledonia. The obvious things like fuel,
water, cruising guides, food, pots and pans and cloths for the warm
climate. I set sail for more northern waters
here....
