Malua - an Adams cruising yacht
The fit-out was undertaken by Harry Watson Smith of Camrod Marine. A lot of thought went into the planning of the layout and the building of the components. It is difficult to recall the exact sequence of activities, except that I began work at the bow then worked aft. I designed, built and installed the major components first, then came back to finish off the detail.
The wood used is Myrtle or Myrtus - look here... I tried to get Tasmania Myrtle
but could not get sufficient so the 2 cubic meters came from South
America. I then had to get 50 sheets of ply veneered onto
waterproof ply of different thicknesses. This I did but it turned
out too dark for my requirement so back to the yard for more veneers
and 50 more sheets.
