Malua - an Adams BluewaterWorld CruiserThis Adams Bluewater 42 has cruised the
world, been rejuvenated on its return, and is ready to set sail into
the sunrise tomorrow. Constructed and approved into 2C survey
(2004) it has a unique layout with an exceptional fit-out and a
best-in-class inventory. It will suit a single sailor or a couple
to cruise the Australian coast or to return to distant international
shores.
My last cruise was a short trip to New
Caledonia and Fiji in June to November 2018 to get away from the cold
of the east coast. As usual I sailed alone but met friends at the
destination. Earlier in that year the family cruised Tasmania but even
that was cold.
Our family have decided to change course and get a smaller vessel or return to France to complete the passage to Paris. |
Key FeaturesSail to distant shore or just up and down
the coast Malua will look after you in all conditions. I built
her to just do that and she has proven her worth. You can sail
her single handed, with just one other or with a full crew. North
Sails Sydney provided a full set of sails last season to replace the
original set. The sail set up for reefing, is single-line furling
main, Profurl genoa and staysail operated from the cockpit to an
electric winch. A large full spinnaker and reacher both with
snuffing sock completes the sail wardrobe. All sail are operated from
the cockpit from electric winches. Yes a one-person operation.
Internally Malua is spacious with portlights that open to give cross ventilation in the tropics. All bunks have European style inner spring mattresses and lea cloths. The shower is engine heated while the toilet is like in an aircraft vacuum suction - so one press and into the holding tank. Click below for a set of pages of features
and pictures. The document is large maybe go to Detailed Inventory.
