Hobart  Wooden Boat Festival 2017

After the setback Flinders Island and the trip to Kettering to get the sail fixed Malua had to pick up crew in Hobart as Denny flew in for the Wooden Boat Festival in Hobart.  While on passage to Hobart I had met a number of wooden yachts and others on their way south so it was great to meet up with them again in Hobart.  Malua anchored out but was able to get a spot in the DSS marina.  A real up-market marina with great pontoons and facilities and as you would expect cheaper than the BB marina.

Denny arrived and we spent the day walking around the waterfront of Hobart a place we had visited more than 12 years previously on Malua.  Not much had changed although the house prices had risen along with the rest of Oz. The first day of the festival was beautiful weather but the next few days the wind and rain arrived.  It did not dampen the spirits of the people.
